Apricity
Despite the sun setting the powder
of snow to sparkling dust, and the
warmth on my cheek – half muffler,
half sunlight, the ice has not
melted on the woodland path
although my toes in the pink boots
no longer feel frozen as the weather
turns and the rabbits’ footprints
skirt the lawn in this respite,
calling me home once more.
